Africa boasts of having players from its origin shine internationally. Though some have changed citizenship and permanently moved to other countries abroad, Africans are still proud of them. Most youths wish to have the same fate as the players who represent our continent abroad. For that matter, Emeka Chigozie has listed some of the best African football clubs one can join and nurture his talent.

1) TP Mazembe.



This Club has its roots in the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was formerly known as Englebert before acquiring its new name. It is the highest ranked football club in Africa with a revenue of €14 million.

2) Al-Merrikh


This is a Sudanese based football club. They play at the Red Castle stadium in Sudan. Apart from being one of the oldest football clubs in Africa, the club also boats of winning the Sudan Premier League 18 times.

This Moroccan based club boasts of having been the first African Club to participate in the FIFA World Club Championships in Brazil. The club’s achievements include winning the Moroccan domestic title 10 times.

5) Al Hilal Omdurman.

This Sudanese based club has a lot of achievements ever since it was founded in 1930. They include; Winning the Sudan Premier League seven times and being crowned champions of the competition 27 times.

6) AS Vita Club.

This Kinshasa based football club was founded in 1935. Their achievements include winning the Linafoot (12 times), Coupe du Congo (9 times) and the Challenge Papa Kalala (2 times).

7) Kaizer Chiefs.

They practice at the FNB stadium in Soweto, South Africa. Their achievements include winning the Premier Soccer League thrice, National Soccer League thrice and the African Cup once.

8) Al Ahly.

This Egyptian football club was named the most successful on earth for its 19 international trophies. They also boast of their 107 domestic trophies. It is clear that this football club that was founded in 1907 is better than the likes of AC Milan and Boca Juniors.

9) Dynamos.

Harare township and Rhodesia came together to form this football club in 1963. Their achievements include winning the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League title 15 times and the Cup of Zimbabwe 5 times.

10) El Zamalek.

This football club is based in Giza in Egypt. Their achievements include winning the Egyptian Cup (22 times), the League (11 times), CAF Champions League (5 times) and CAF Super Cup (3 times).
